BANGUED, Abra, Feb. 21 (PIA) -- The Social Security System (SSS) is offering another round of a loan amnesty to its members effective April 2, 2012.
Benedicta Garcia, Branch Manager of SSS-Bangued Branch, disclosed that the next round of loan amnesty program is intended for the SSS members whose loans have been paid but were not remitted by their employers. In this case, a 100% penalty is waived.
Other members qualified to avail of the latest loan amnesty program are the beneficiaries of deceased SSS member-borrowers who are claiming for death benefits. They, too, are given a 100% waiver of the penalties supposed to be charged.
The other members, however, will have a pro-rated computation of the penalties to be waived. These include the members who have started to pay three amortizations but failed to continue paying. This case, 80% of the penalty is waived.
Delinquents loaners will have less discount which is only 50% of the penalties to be waived, and this is especially for those who are filing their application for retirement.
The latest loan amnesty program offered by the SSS will take effect on April 2, 2012 until September 30, 2012, so all concerned members who are interested to avail of the said loan condonation package may now visit the SSS branch office nearest them to apply for the said loan amnesty.
Meanwhile, the special promo for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) dubbed as “SSS member get member promo” has been ongoing since last month. The promo will last until June 2012.
This is how the promo works, an OFW nominates or recruits a fellow OFW to become member of the SSS. For every monthly remittance by the OFW nominated/recruited, the recruiter/nominator is given a raffle ticket.
Prize packages are the following: for the first prize - travel to Boracay with P45,000 pocket money; second prize is also a Trip to Boracay with P30,000 pocket money; and the third prize is also a trip to Boracay with P20,000 pocket money. Consolation prizes will be P10,000 cash.
The more nominees, the more chances for winning in the raffle. The nominator/recruiter who has the most number of recruits will be awarded P50,000 cash in September during the SSS anniversary celebration. (JDP/MTBB-PIA CAR,Abra)
