10 Bocaps hailed for ‘job well done’

BAGUIO CITY - 10 barangay captains out of the 128 Punong Barangays in the city were recognized last week for their selfless dedication to service.
City Mayor Mauricio Domogan congratulated the 10 bocaps after they were presented by Councilor Joel Alangsab during Mondays flag raising ceremonies in front of the city hall grounds.
The awards were given by the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio as part of the 18th Search of the 10 Most Outstanding Barangay Captains of Baguio City for the year 2010.
Domogan thanked the barangay officials for continuously working hand in hand for the development and welfare of their barangays which in turn would contribute greatly to the development of the city.
Among the awardees are PB Aurora Abellera of City Camp Proper Barangay, PB Martin Anglog of Loakan-Apugan Barangay, PB Emmanuel Luis Bacungan Jr. of Scout Barrio Barangay, PB Mathew Bayao of East Quirino Hill Barangay, PB Gloria Corazon Dalisay of Quezon Hill Barangay, PB Thomas Dumalti of Irisan Barangay, PB Michael Karl Flores of Kabayanihan Barangay, PB Arturo Rapelo Jr. of Imelda Village Barangay, PB Jesusa Viscaya of Loakan Proper Barangay and PB Horacio Willy of Pinsao Proper Barangay.
Meantime, ABC President and Councilor joel Alangsab has introduced a resolution expressing appreciation to the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio for holding the 18th awarding ceremonies for the ten most outstanding Punong Barangays of Baguio City as well as congratulating the ten awardees.
Alangsab said, the ten Pb’s deserve such recognition for their selfless efforts in assisting the city achieve its vision and mission in advancing the welfare of their respective barangays’.

‘This activity will serve as a challenge to other PB’s to do better and work harder’, he said.
Alangsab believes the effort of the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio in awarding the PB’s has somewhat heightened the standards of leadership within the barangay level as efforts of their selfless service have the opportunity of being recognized. ***paul rillorta
