BAGUIO CITY, May 29 (PIA) - -The Department of Education (DepEd) in the region reiterates its “no collection” policy in all public schools for the opening of classes in June.
DepEd Assistant Regional Director Teresita Velasco, during a radio interview, announced that the “no collection policy” is still enforced.
She said that from preschool up to grade IV, there will be no collection for the whole school year.
However, collections will come in the higher grade levels by July that includes voluntary contributions for organizations like the Philippine Red Cross, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Anti-TB and the Parents Teachers Community Association (PTCA), Velasco added.
“We would like to reiterate that the Department is strictly implementing the no collection policy in all public schools nationwide. All collections agreed upon by the PTCA during the school year are voluntary and teachers or any school officials should not be involved in the collection,” Velasco stressed. *(JDP/MC- PIA CAR)
